After spending some time in Exeter for the first time since COVID started, I took the long way home up through Bayfield and Goderich then across back to Kitchener.
Along the way I enjoyed a foggy morning, checked out an almost abandoned mall, saw a few trains, and checked in on the GEXR’s Russell Plow.

Work has been pretty hectic with COVID cases rising, trying to get things wrapped up before Christmas break, and shifting to teaching online.
In the last month I almost got blown over by winds on the Bayfield pier, did some exploring on quiet winter nights, slipped on ice, and took a quick trip to Toronto.

This past Sunday my month of car shows wrapped up with the Toronto edition of the Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive put together by Hagerty and the Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
The day started at an astounding car collection up in Bruce County, then the race was on as the cars made their way down to the Hagerty Garage + Social location in Burlington.
It was a fantastic day of great cars and friendly drivers all supporting a good cause. Looking forward to the next one in 2022!
Just before the Labour Day weekend I popped over to Exeter for the annual corn roast and fly-in at Sexsmith Airport.
I’d attended a couple events there before and really like the laid-back atmosphere and the chance to see some great planes up close. It’s a nice change of pace from the usual airshow crowd and it's a chance to see the sort of small-town flying club that’s becoming harder and harder to find.
