Oblivion V - Nice Day for a White Wedding
After missing last year’s show this year’s Oblivion outing was high on my August to-do list! With over a hundred cars parked around the scenic St. Volodymyr Cultural Centre in Oakville this year’s show didn’t leave anyone with cold feet.
I’m a huge fan of what the Oblivion Car & Culture Show is all about, and it’s not just because I grew up in the 90s. As time moves on some aspects of classic car culture are struggling to keep up, and the definition of what a “classic car” is varies from person to person. Oblivion tries to showcase some of the weird and overlooked cars from the recent past (though 1980 was still 40 years ago) and appeal to a younger crowd who might otherwise see the classic car scene as having left them in the rear view mirror.
Special thanks to the Oblivion Cars & Culture Show for inviting me out to such a unique and exciting event!
OJOA Concours
After missing last year’s Ontario Jaguar Owners Association concours I was able to make it back to the Warplane Heritage Museum for the 2023 iteration of the long-running event!
This year brought a selection of newer Jags along with the classics. I always forget how tricky it is to shoot at the museum when the hanger doors are open, but luckily they usually park some choice cars outside with vintage airplanes as a backdrop!

Storms and Photo Outing
Seems like every other day a pretty serious thunderstorm sweeps through Stratford. After getting a shot of a shelf cloud roaring towards town (and after drying off), I headed outside of Thedford for an Ausable Camera Club meetup at an old bridge.
After checking out the bridge the club went to the recently renovated Lambton Heritage Museum. I haven’t been back to the museum since I worked there, and the changes they’ve made are universally for the better.

Vintage Wheels and Wings
This past weekend I spent a pleasantly overcast morning on the tarmac of the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum for their annual Vintage Wheels and Wings show!
It's been a few years since I made it to Vintage Wheels and Wings and it was nice to get back out to one of my favourite museums for such a great show. From British roadsters to American muscle, the show had something for everyone!
